The Federal Tax Authority has issued Decision No. 15 of 2026 on Provisions on Exemption from Corporate Tax, effective from 15 September 2026.
The Decision replaces FTA Decision No. 7 of 2023 and sets out the process for eligible exempt persons to register and apply for Corporate Tax exemption.
As a general rule, eligible persons must apply for exemption after the end of the Tax Period in which the exemption conditions are met, and no later than 90 business days after the end of that Tax Period.
The Decision also includes important transitional deadlines, including a 31 December 2026 deadline for certain persons eligible for retrospective exemption under Cabinet Decision No. 55 of 2025, as well as certain qualifying investment funds and qualifying limited partnerships.
Where approved, the exemption will generally take effect from the start of the Tax Period stated in the application. The FTA may determine a different effective date in specific circumstances.
The Decision applies to Tax Periods commencing on or after 1 June 2023, for applications submitted from 15 September 2026 onwards.
